As a Hands
On Atlanta AmeriCorps member, you will be given the opportunity to work in
elementary and middle schools to transform partnering schools into “centers for
community.” You and your team of one to five members will be committed to
community service, supporting the public school system and the individual by
engaging families, teachers and community members and corporations in education.

manage volunteers

technology into the classroom

ethic of service through hands-on community projects.
Service
Leaders:
Hands On Atlanta AmeriCorps Service Leaders serve in Atlanta’s
elementary and middle schools as mentors, reading coaches, classroom assistants,
service leaders and volunteer coordinators. AmeriCorps members receive a $270
weekly living stipend, health insurance, childcare assistance if eligible, and a
$2,362.50 education award at the completion of their term of service.
A college
degree is strongly preferred.
Experience in volunteer management, education, community organization, marketing
or communications a plus.
